Takao smiled and shook his head. Only cowards run, and only someone not educated would not recognize that I am the son of one of the greatest merchants in the world. He smiled a little, knowing that unless that someone met Jared as a random occurrence that they could not know him. Unless Jared was religious. Last he checked he was not so unless Jared had a change of heart it was a little hard to believe the ghost.. And now they are lying to me? Who do they think they are Hikari?
I do not know, but one was a ghost and one was a vampire. That much I could tell. Shall we amuse them and go check out the church? It is the only building that has an area wide enough for me to land at in this city.
Lets go then, meet you there. Takao jumped up and called up his four wings, an oddity among lesser angels, and shot out right past Alessia, Cethin, Tiberius, and Hadrian, but not without yelling what was on his mind. "Just so you know, you rich trash, I probably have more money than you could ever dream of." He darted off, quickly ascending to make a beeline to the church over the rest of the buildings.
Akio walked in slowly, glancing around the church and smiled. He looked to the roof and found himself in awe at the drawings on the ceiling. I wonder if Elijah is around today. He looked towards the alter and saw Emzara approaching it. He smiled and sat in one of the benches and smiled, watching the girl look around in awe.
He stood up when he heard the doors open up and saw, it couldn't be. A four winged angel? Was this a higher angel, or a lesser angel? He continued to look at the figure in awe when he was the wings disappear and say, through the remaining crack in the door, the biggest dragon he had ever seen in his life landing in the courtyard outside of it.
"So this is the grand cathedral of Celestial City." Takao stated as he looked around it curiously. He knew it would be big, just never thought it would be this big.

Alessia raised an eyebrow at the hurried coward as he fled from the scene. Her mouth twitched a little bit, and then she turned to Cethin and laughed a merry laugh of amusement and pure mockery.
"I honestly believe that man must have been under the influence dragon dust," the vampiress chuckled as Hadrian climbed onto Tiberius' back. She gracefully walked over to her demon's head and grabbed his reins, giving Hadrian more room in the basket-like saddle.
The angelic vampire snapped the reins and Tiberius did his best to lift off. It was incredibly difficult and infinitely awkward trying to achieve lift in such a confined space, but after a few broken windows and perhaps some damaged doors, the monster demon finally did it. He was soaring through the skies above the Celestial City in no time.
"We're heading to my home in the Adamas District," she called over her shoulder to Cethin. "Perhaps my brother might be able to help you."
What Alessia didn't realize is that when she said brother, Elijah might have been the better choice; in fact, the duo might have no other choice but to ask him.
A swift hand was quick to grab Emzara's wrist. The hexagram-shaped stone seemed to let off a new light of inanimate appreciation for Elijah Hawking stopping the egregious act of physically disgracing the Hexadus.
Elijah wasn't even looking, which was the strange thing. He was still kneeling in front of the altar, his head bowed in prayer, eyes closed. His uncanny knowledge of Emzara's intent to touch the Hexadus stone was actually quite eerie and almost a little creepy.
As the healer finished his prayers, he held Emzara's wrist in place. This went on for perhaps another thirty or forty seconds until the angel finally lifted his head. His eyes remained closed.
"Please, don't touch –"
In the midst of his sentence, he had begun to open his eyes, and when he recognized it was Emzara whose wrist he was holding like iron shackles, he was taken aback.
"Emzara?" Elijah asked, releasing his grip though careful to ensure he casually moved her hand further from the Hexadus stone.

"And all the money in the world couldn't help your arrogance and ignorance," Cethin muttered as Takao flew off towards the church. Unfortunately, he could hear the foolish angel's thoughts. How the hell he even saw past his lies which were even a match for some of the most devious people on Osoa, Cethin didn't know and didn't give a damn. He was leaving and wasting more time on chasing random information even though he knew it was fake and that was all the ghost could be happy about.
"I don't think I've ever met your brother, Alessia. This should be interesting," The ghost smirked, his natural personality coming back to him. With Takao, he found himself very aggravated and annoyed, although he wasn't the one to show those types of emotions. He kept a smirk on, but it was different than now, more forced.
Oh no, oh no, oh no! Emzara tried to jerk her hand away from the person who had grabbed it, knowing very well that one wrong move could give her a new soul and leave the other person without one. Thankfully, the seconds seemed to go by fast and she was able to pull her wrist away and stumble back some when she realized who it was. She froze, her eyes widening more than they had been widened before, this time in shock rather than awe.
"Elijah...?" She replied, equally taken aback. "Wh-What are you doing here?" The demon stuttered, not able to break eye contact with him.

Akio snapped his attention back to the altar and smiled. Elijah was there as usual. "Oh good, you two know each other. Only one question, how do you know each other?" The vedial stood up and looked at the two quizzically. "Elijah, how did I not know her? Did you meet her on one of your trips?"
He approached slowly, his thoughts clouded with confusion when he suddenly remembered the angel that just walked in, and who was observing the three of them carefully. He turned around and looked at the Takao again, still not quite sure what to make of him. Was he a lesser angel or was he an archangel? "Elijah, if an angel has four wings are they an archangel?"
Takao raised his eyebrow at the question, tempted to answer but decided to see if this person named Elijah would know. If not then he would have some explaining to do, that is if the other two even acknowledged his presence. If not then he would be out the door and on Hikari in a heartbeat. There was really no reason for him to be here anyway. He knew that the ghost had lied to him, and had just came here to amuse them
If I walk out it's time for the two of us to head towards Notia, just be prepared to take off in a moments notice.
Alright Takao, though I just hope that you are making the right choice to go to Notia.

Misguided by bias and perhaps the placebo effect, Elijah felt as though his hand were burning from touching a demon in the holy house of the Hexadus. He knew he was just imagining it, but the feeling would not go away.
The angel looked at Emzara without answering her question. What was he doing here? What else would he be doing here? She had seen him praying. He was praying here. The question was answerable from the moment she stepped into the church and laid eyes on the mysterious man kneeling at the foot of the altar.
And then Akio asked something. Actually, he asked four things, four overwhelming questions that Elijah would not answer all at once. Instead, he decided to respond only to Akio's final question, as it had the least relevance to his interpersonal relationship with Emzara.
"No," he said firmly, not sending a glance Akio's way. He instead returned his gaze to the Hexadus stone and refused to look at Emzara.
"It's probably just an uncommon mutation," the Hawking child stated, meaning no disrespect. Sometimes Elijah was unaware that people could take things offensively despite them being true. He was a mutant; blonde hair and blue eyes were never meant to be. Just a genetic mutation.
"Archangels are uncommon on Orbis," he explained, as if Akio were a student and Elijah were the teacher, "and they are distinguishable from their lesser cousins by a ethereal white glow that always sits about them."
He tried to remain concentrated on the Hexadus stone before him, and as a result, he closed his eyes. Elijah would not look at Emzara, nor would he turn to meet Akio's gaze or acknowledge Takao's presence. He could feel Emzara beside him and sense an awkward tension between the two. Angel and demon, fates bound by the Hexadus. He knew of the secrets whispered to him by the Six every night, and he could only wonder, did Emzara know the same?

She couldn't hide the frown that suddenly appeared on her face as it seemed like Elijah completely ignored her. Did he think she was stupid or something? Emzara had honestly never been to a church and she had no clue what Elijah had been doing before. She had seen others do what he had been, but the lesser demon just didn't know what they were doing kneeling on the ground and closing their eyes. It looked sort of silly to her.
Now, she knew Elijah could be quiet, but she didn't take him as rude. The demon was not one to peg people as such unless they truly showed signs of it and Elijah was quite the opposite. He however, loved to judge people by race, especially demons. Even trying to act as nice as possible just didn't seem to get through him.
"He helped me once," She simply said to Akio, still looking at Elijah in a way that wasn't creepy, just skeptical. Was there a reason why he wasn't looking at either of them and only answering Akio's last question? Did she say something wrong to him? All she had done was to ask him what he was doing in the church.
She then noticed that he was staring at that stone she almost touched earlier before he stopped her. And then he closed his eyes. Something was wrong with him, but she couldn't place what it was. Her deep purple eyes were now flowing with concern as she stood up on her tiptoes and leaned close to Elijah. She decided to whisper in his ear so Akio wouldn't hear her, "Are you okay?"

Takao shrugged and stepped out of the building, climbing quickly up onto Hikari who instantly launched her gigantic frame into the sky. You know where to go Hikari. We are off to Notia since it's been nearly five years since we last went.
Akio just looked at the two, questions swirling around in his head. So Elijah knew Emzara already? Why had he never heard of the girl? Elijah usually told him about an experience he had, this must not have been one he wanted to share. It must be because she is a soul stealer.
He sighed and looked at the two, standing so close together. He still had a feeling that Cethin was up to no good with Emzara, and knew it would be best to keep him as far away from her as possible until he knew exactly what he was planning for the young demon.
"He's always praying every time he comes into the church. I don't think there has been one time I've seen him in here and not been praying..." he mumbled to himself, sighing as he leaned against one of the nearby pews. The vedial looked at the two, his mind still wandering questioningly about the past the two before him had.
"How did he help you? I know he is a medic so did he heal you once before?" he asked curiously. Akio wasn't trying to pry the information from her, he was just trying to find all the pieces to the puzzle that he seemed to have been left out of until now.

"I'm not a medic, Akio," Elijah said with just a touch of irritation in his voice. He hadn't finished praying, and he hated that feeling of incompleteness, especially when it involved the holiest beings to have ever graced the universe, perhaps only second to their parents. The Hexadus did not deserve such incompleteness.
"I'm a healer," he corrected, "I know only magic. I only wish I knew natural remedies."
The angel decided to quickly end his prayer with magic. His hand glowed with a moving mist of six colors: black, white, green, yellow, orange, and ice-blue. The mist left his hand and found a connection to the Hexadus stone. It swirled around the unique stone, and the stone emitted a bright, white light vertically into the sky. It pierced the glass window which was aligned perfectly with the stone, and stopped after that, finding its way into another plane of existence: Zerua.
"I'm fine, Emzara," Elijah confirmed, turning back to the demon. "How have you been?"

At practically the same time as Elijah, she found herself shaking her head and saying, "He's not a Medic." And when she realized her words had come out of her mouth the same time the words came out of his mouth, a small blush formed on her cheeks. She should have let the angel correct Akio for himself; she could have stayed quiet and just not have done that. But, she felt it necessary to defend Elijah for some reason, even if it was just a miniscule matter.
"He just... um.... Healed me," She responded to Akio, not looking at him this time. She was not going to tell him that she had to steal Elijah's soul energy through a kiss! Firstly, it was complicated to explain and it was embarrassing on her half. And she still didn't know how Elijah had felt about it. She wasn't going to bring it up if it made him uncomfortable as well.
Her eyes flicked to the light that shot up into the sky. "Woah! What is that?!" She took a step closer to the altar, her eyes widening. "Where is it going?" Her eyes looked up at the glass and farther past it. For a moment, she could have swore she saw a phoenix before a sharp pain drilled into her head, causing her to look away from the light and grind her teeth in pain. Other than that, she didn't reveal any other problems.
When she turned back to Elijah, very glad he finally talked to her. Maybe he was accepting her as more than just a demon? "I've been... alright," She nodded her head, mostly to herself. It was an okay response, nothing very big. She frowned slightly as she added, "I saw your sister. Alessia, right?"
For some odd reson, right after the sharp pain had entered her head, voices were starting to swirl around in her mind. They kept saying stuff like "bond" and "fate", but it still didn't make sense to her.

Before Emzara could ask about his sister, Elijah responded to her questioning awe.
"It's a physical prayer that finishes much more quickly than a mental one," he explained succinctly, his voice treading ever so slightly on the edges of dry so as to hint at his discontent at being interrupted. The shining light that was exploding through the stained glass window above ceased as his finished his short explanation.
The instant Emzara uttered the vile name of Elijah's damnable sister, two things happened.
First, all color drained from the angel's skin. His generally narrow eyes widened a bit as he stared straight down at the Hexadus stone with his grey-blue gaze. The room suddenly felt colder to him.
Second, the Hexadus stone swirled with a crimson-orange color and a touch of black, like blood and fire and darkness. The swirls were erratic and unpredictable, as if displeased by an unwanted, external force.
"Her disgraceful being is not to be mentioned in this holy establishment," Elijah hissed quietly, looking at Emzara with stern eyes. The distress in his voice was audible to the entire church, which had grown eerily quiet in the past forty-five seconds. "The Hexadus are all-knowing and all-present. They hear all, they see all, and they are everywhere. It is disrespectful, blasphemous even, to speak of the unholy, the evil, and the selfish in their domain."
He stood up from the altar before him and sent a ray of white, misty magic to calm the frayed stone in the center. As if forgiving the unrighteous misdeed, a serene atmosphere fell heavy upon the church. It was almost sleep-inducing, and it felt reassuring and calm like that of a mother's warm embrace.
"I'm sorry if that was rude," he said, looking down at the ground between him and Emzara while touching his hand to the back of his head in an uncomfortable gesture. He withdrew it just as fast. "I'm only trying to save you from blasphemy."
His final sentence was a little bit playful, his theatrical voice acting out the irrational drama of the Hexadus as if freedom of speech were the sickest thing in the world. A slight smile spread across his face as he returned his mystical gaze to Emzara.

"Okay okay, I have never really understood the difference." Akio held up his hands in defeat. He Smiled as he watched the physical prayer rise up through the air. He always found these interesting, for he never really understood how to do them. Sure he wasn't religious but he did pray, though not as often as Elijah. The vedial watched the orb disappear, not really paying attention to Emzara nor Elijah until Alessia was mentioned.
Akio watched the color drain from Elijah's face at the mention of his sister and watched the Hexadus stone swirl with color. That's not something you see everyday.
Akio looked at the ground and mumbled to himself, "So if she was unholy and evil I'm guessing the guy was too just as I had expected...." He looked up at Elijah and frowned. He had never had the best of people skills but something like this is beyond what he even expected of Elijah.
"Elijah, do you mind if we step out of the church then? I have something I want to talk to both you and Emzara about that the Hexadus may react the same way too. I just don't want the peace disrupted in the church any more than it has already been."
OOC: It's fine, I'm a little glad you did because I wasn't sure how to respond effectively. In essence you helped me out a little this time.

When Emzara was younger, she would pull up the blankets over her head when she was scared. Right now, even as an adult, she wished she could have done the same thing as Elijah snapped at her. Frightened tears pricked her eyes, threatening to run down at her cheeks before she caught them. She didn't know what she was doing wrong! Heck, she had never been in a church and the most of the stuff the angel was hissing was foreign to her, as was much of the world outside of Ashfall.
"The Hexadus are all-knowing and all-present. They hear all, they see all, and they are everywhere. It is disrespectful, blasphemous even, to speak of the unholy, the evil, and the selfish in their domain."
The words were lashed out in a way that seemed familiar to Cethin when he was mad. She didn't like this. She didn't like this at all. She wanted to get away, but she didn't want to be rude. Emzara didn't like not knowing what all of it meant. The Hexadus? Who was he talking about? Why were they everywhere? She had heard about the Santach, but the Hexadus was something unknown to her. As was blasphemy.
Emzara started to inch her way backwards, slipping on one of the steps leading down to the aisles and benches. A small squeak of surprise came from her mouth as she fell, then caught herself. The demon stepped down the final step, her cheeks flushed with humiliation. She abashedly straightened out her dress as if it hadn't just happened.
As she looked up, she found herself face to face with a smiling angel. Quite literally, as Elijah was an angel. But an emotion she had only felt when she was around him rippled through her violently.
"Sure, let's go," Emzara replied to Akio quickly, spinning away from Elijah and fast walking out of the church. She only looked back at Elijah once, something unknown swirling in her deep purple eyes.

A dumbfounded expression found its way onto Elijah's face as the two left the Church. Whoops. He didn't mean to cause Emzara to feel that way. The angel took a deep breath, looking down at the floor when Emzara had turned her head. He exhaled before picking up his gaze and following the two outside of the Church.
Outside, the sun gleamed brilliantly across blue skies. The clouds were few, birds sang, children played, and a soft breeze kept the day cool. The plants basked, welcoming the warm rays of light, and a barking dog ran after its playful owner. Elijah loved these days. He silently thanked the Hexadus for blessing the Celestial City with shining days.
His face warm with gratefulness, he turned to Akio. "What is it you wished to speak about?"

Akio turned and followed Emzara out of the church, not all to surprised by her reaction to how Elijah had said the statement. He waited patiently outside for Elijah to catch up before directed the two towards an empty alleyway. "The reason I wanted to talk to you two outside of the church is that it involves talking about what you call an unholy name Elijah. The ghost that Emzara was with is not to be trusted. I have a feeling that he is planning something for you Emzara, and that something is not all to good."
Akio turned and started to talk down the alleyway thoughtfully. If his hunch was right then it may be best if they kept the young girl away from Cethin and Alessia. At least Akio had a few tricks up his sleeve to deal with a ghost. Akio sighed and shifted, turning on his heals to face the two again. "You've known me for a while now Elijah, you know my hunches usually are correct. What do you think of this one? The ghost had to drag Emzara all the way here for a reason. I only wish I knew what that reason was. I just know he is most likely telling Alessia his plan right now."

"You can't trust anyone, okay?" He had said to her. "Well, no one but me."
It completely contradicted to what Akio was saying now. She lifted her hand and opened her mouth, trying to stop him. By this time, however, he was already pacing and still talking. Deep purple eyes glanced up at Elijah, wondering if he was believing anything of what Akio was saying. Akio had said that he and Elijah were friends, but they didn't seem all to close.
"Uh.... Um... " Emzara awkwardly tried to work her way into Akio's speech. Finally, she sighed heavily and just waited for him to finish. Why was he asking Elijah about what to think of his hunch? Neither one of them knew Cethin, only she did, which sort of made her mad. Was she even there?
"I think your hunch is wrong," The lesser demon replied. "Cethin has taken care of me ever since my mother kicked me out of my own home. He looks like he's mean and such, but he was the only person I could turn to for the longest time in my life. He wouldn't do anything bad to me. I know he wouldn't..." She explained, sounding more like she was trying to convince herself more than Akio and Elijah.
