Description:
Eve normally looks like a vedial, just a simple vedial. She stays on land or in fresh water all of the time, so her mermaid form is not shown. From just first glance probably the most unusual thing about the mermaid is her eyes. Her eyes are the beautiful color of a sparkling pool of water. They reflect every one of Eve's emotions, much to the mermaid's annoyance. However, only the right eye can see, the left is completely blind.
Other than her eyes, she seems nothing like a mermaid. She can walk effortlessly, unlike most merpeople, except for some problems with seeing only with one eye. Eve stands at 5'7" with a small body frame and little more than average curves at the hips and chest. She is skinny and almost looks malnourished for the fact that you can see her ribs. She is frail and delicate, bruising very easily. Her skin is fair, not pale.
Eve's hair is long, cascading to the bottom of her back. Her bangs pushed to the side, never getting in her crystal blue eyes. The color shifts from a soft russet to a mild orange with hints of brunette.
No one has ever seen Eve's mermaid form, not even herself. When she does eventually change, though, she'll be in salt water and she'll see a tail that's the color of a light sky blue. Her hands will also be webbed.
PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Alignment: Neutral
Religious Affiliation: Holy
Likes: the water, consistant weather, sunny days, swimming, relaxing, having dreams
Dislikes: rainy days, windy days, snow days, loud noises, being pitied
Description:
Eve is a kind and humorous person when she wants to be. Other than that, she's very quiet and shy. She keeps to herself and doesn't like socializing much with people, normally just with animals. She finds that animals won't pity her like people will when she tells them about her half-blindness. They also don't judge her when she makes mistakes.
She hates it more than anything when people pity her for what's wrong with her eye. Eve will lash out in a way that's quite different from normal personality. She's not very strong, so she'll result to using her water element to prove a point. What she hates even more is when she sees someone else who has a problem like hers being pitied and milking it and using people. She takes pity on no one, no matter their situation.
Funny thing about Eve is that she doesn't know she's a mermaid. Her body is designed to change only when in salt water, and she's never been in the ocean, so she doesn't know about her mermaid self. Eve doesn't see the need to to travel to the ocean when she can swim perfectly find in freshwater rivers and lakes.
HISTORY AND BACKGROUND
Eve never knew her father, just her mother. Every morning Eve woke up as a child, she was told by her mother not to listen to snakes. Ever. She never understood what she meant by it, so she brushed it off as unimportant. In fact, sometimes just to annoy her mother, she would bring home snakes and pretend to talk to them and understand them. She quickly took a liking to any types of snakes despite her mother's warnings.
The liking even followed her to her teen years, just in a slightly different way.
By the age of fifteen, Eve was able to wrap any boy around her finger. She was flirtatious and loved to mess with boys' minds. And, it wasn't long before she came upon a boy equally as flirtatious as herself. He could come up with a witty comment as quick as she could. And, on top of that, he was a snake half-breed. His name was Drake Alderon. Eve fell in love.
They were only together for a few months before Drake started acting strangely. He started calling Eve names that confused and hurt her. He made excuses to why they couldn't hang out and soon, Eve didn't see him altogether for weeks. He was never at his house or his normal places. Eve just couldn't find him anywhere.
One night, Eve did stumble across him, though. She found him with a girl she didn't know. He was kissing her and holding her like he used to hold Eve. When he saw her, though, he merely laughed and asked her, "Oh, Eve. I kept meaning to ask you. Have you ever heard of the story of a foolish girl named Eve who let a wicked serpent ruin her perfect life? I bet you'll find you and her have a lot in common." He stood up, telling the girl that he'd be right back.
He strode right up to Eve and grabbed her wrist before she could run, pulling her into an embrace. He whispered, "You know, Eve. I really did love you." It was last thing he ever said to her, for, the next second, he plunged the tip of a small dagger into her left eye, causing it to go completely blind.
Eve never figured that's what her mother meant when she said not to listen to snakes.
