"Come on then, let's get you a bowl," Roxanna said, gesturing toward her private quarters. "Let's go, Nazar! If you're feeling up to it and like I'm actually safe inside my own castle, you're free to take this vial to Arkadios."
Roxanna held up the vial, offering it to Nazar if he so chose to give it to Arkadios. It wasn't a command, but if he wanted to feel more helpful than just protecting the Countess, he was welcome to.
It was only a moment after Holly's apology that the sound of glass hitting stone revealed Maximum Sky and Nuala Delmy's little hiding place. Falkor turned to them, a quizzical expression quite visible in his eyes before turning back to Holly. He locked his gaze with hers very strongly.
"It's quite all right, Mystic Holly," Falkor said lightly as he took the vials. It was evident that there was a hint of friendly mockery in his voice. His typically bland eyes were playful and dancing. And then he did something unexpected.
Casting a quick glance at the spot where Max and Nuala where trying to remain hidden (but ultimately failed due to noise and not visibility), he looked back at Holly with an expression never witnessed before on Falkor's face: gentle kindness. And then he asked, "Do you need help distributing the rest of these to those who need them?"
Sabre looked up at Falkor with surprise. She wasn't really sure what to think. In fact, she was so shocked that she just stared at him for a good moment, until Holly replied. And then she shook her head, utter confusion on her face, and walked away.

"Right," Sol nodded his head in a swift movement. His movements were graceful as ever as he began walking towards where the Countess gestured, not waiting for Nazar to respond to Roxanna or for her to start walking too. He didn't want to drink any potions becuase he swore that he felt sicker after drinking them, but he would for the sake of staying by Countess Roxanna's side.
Nazar contemplated for some time. Not long enough for it to seem too long, but not short enough to suggest that he was merely taking it as an excuse to get off work. He wouldn't do that.
Cautiously, as if Roxanna were simply testing him to see if he would take it or not, he plucked the vial out of her hand and nodded, walking calmly out of the main hall to find Arkadios. Once he was out of sight, his slow walk sped up gradually to a more rushed walk. Quicker to point B and back to point A meant that Roxanna had less of a chance of getting hurt.
"Go, go, go! Mission aborted!" Nuala whispered to Max, inaudible to anyone but the two. Without even waiting for Max, she pulled her away quickly, not caring about the vials even if the kalahati dropped them again as she grabbed Max's hand and ran. She knew very well that their cover had been blown, but knew that running out of there at the right time was the better than staying there and making Holly just more awkward.
She stopped back in the main hall, releasing Max's arm and laughing. "Good job, Max! That was awesome!" She continued to laugh, holding her stomach as if it hurt.
Holly whipped her head around at the sound of vials crashing to the ground and found Max and Nuala. Wait, were they following her? The expression on Nuala's mischievous face said that she was. And then they were gone, Nuala pulling Max away at swift speed.
There was a tone in Falkor's voice that hooked her when he said her name. He was mocking her! It didn't offend her, because she could see the playfulness in his eyes and it wasn't like she hadn't been mocked before. If anything, it made her feel a bit more confident with talking with him, knowing that he wasn't just a being without emotion other than anger.
The Olisthir blinked for a moment, registering the question in her mind for a moment before speaking, "Are you serious? I mean, I would love help, but I wouldn't want to bother you." She flashed a small smile, not believing King Falkor would ask to help her.

Max winced as she was grabbed again and pulled away, dropping the vials yet again. She let herself get pulled, resisting the urge to just run electricity through her arms and zap Nuala. She didn't like getting pulled around like this, it was annoying. She didn't fight it though, the vampire was stronger than her, she couldn't fight it even a little.
"What was awesome?" The kalahati tilted her head curiously. She didn't really understand what was so awesome in her eyes. All she saw was a bunch of vials now laying on the floor that she had tried to clean up herself. Was it awesome being so close to Holly and Falkor? She was near Holly all the time but being near Falkor was a little interesting in her opinion.
"I don't really understand what you mean by awesome.....that was embarrassing to me....."

"I believe it was I who asked you, Mystic Holly," Falkor commented.
He walked over to where Max and Nuala used to be and picked up the dropped vials. Strong glass, he thought to himself, as they had withstood being dropped three times in a row. It was actually quite peculiar that such strong glass was used for an everyday potion being handed out to hundreds of people, but Falkor figured there was some mystical secret behind it that he, as a King and not a mage or alchemist, would ever understand.
"Shall we continue?" the olisthir asked upon returning to Holly. "Lead the way." He motioned with his hand in the direction the mystic had been running before colliding with his back.
Unlike some, Falkor actually waited. He didn't run ahead, eager to finish this little mini-mission. Holly would play leader in this quest. He was a mere assistant to her tedious task of handing out the vials to the citizens of Acerbus Umbra. There was a shred of true gentleman deep in the guy's heart.

"But thanks to me making you drop the vials, Holly gets to spend more time with Falkor instead of just running around all alone," Nuala couldn't stop herself from chuckling. Casually, she leaned against the stone wall and shook her head. "I wish I could see Holly's face. She freaks out so bad around him. And trust me, Holly's probably more embarrassed than you are right now," She attempted to calm down, now only having a slight bit of a giggle fit.
"Oh, um, sure!" Holly responded, starting to walk at an easy and laid back pace. She didn't exactly 'lead the way'; she kept at the same speed as Falkor, remaining side-by-side with him. The thought of taking a leadership-type position while Falkor-- who had always been her superior-- was there was a strange and foreign idea.
Every so often, a person staying in the castle would walk by and Holly would give them a vial, smile, and wish them a good day, no matter what expression they gave her. It didn't take long before there was only four more vials to give out.
"Well, it looks like we only have four more. Tori, Pheonix, Phasma, and Feral," She commented, mostly to herself, but partially to Falkor to let him know what th status was. They had been quiet the entire time, but, to Holly, it didn't seem awkward. It seemed almost pleasant.
"I have to thank you for helping me, King Falkor," She laughed lightly, smiling up at him. "I really do appreciate someone coming along with me on these little errands." Her eyes were swirling with graditude, practically overflowing with happiness that someone had asked to come along with her. "And..." She scratched the back of her head, looking down at the ground as they continued to walk, "If you want, you can just call me Holly. I really don't mind."

Max sighed and started for the fire. She was cold and she wanted to warm up a little before she did anything else, not that she had anything to do. She sighed and sat down closer to the fire since she thought she was the only one there. She pulled her feet up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. She glanced around, looking for Kenya.
She was surprised when she couldn't spot her companion right off the bat and instantly wanted her by her side. "Kenya, where are you?" Max patted the ground next to her and glanced around, expecting the cat to come to her. If she didn't she would be more puzzled than anything. She never understood where Kenya went whenever she wasn't around her, maybe she was off hunting. Yeah, that had to be it, she got hungry so she decided to go hunting.

Falkor ignored Holly's words of appreciation. He wasn't trying to be rude; he just didn't know what to say. You're welcome? That wasn't his style. Any time bud, let's be best friends? Absolutely not. The olisthir chose instead to simply move along the conversation by diverging from the path of deeper connections and continuing on the one of Phasma, Feral, Tori, and Pheonix.
"I don't have a clue where Phasma and her demon dragon can be found," he admitted somberly. "They remain a mystery to me. I did, however, see Pheonix in the courtyard. Perhaps Tori is not far by. Shall we check?"
The King didn't mind this. The job seemed boring. There wasn't much to do other than play hide-and-seek as the seeker and perform the daunting task of giving someone a vial. Sure, maybe every once in a while a paranoid fellow would shove it away or an angry woman would scream at you, and that was lively, but he found himself enjoying his duties as a leader a little bit more than this.
Maybe, he thought, I'm just missing out on the fun parts of being a mystical advisor.

A sliver of disappointment flashed in her eyes, leaving as quickly as it came. What was she expecting from him? Acknowledgement? A you're welcome? It was Falkor for Noctzar's sake! She shouldn't have been so hopeful around him; they didn't even seem to be friends. Merely acquintances in the same castle. They knew each others name, they knew what their roles in society were, but it appeared to Holly that there was a barrier blocking them from anything further.
No matter how much she hated to admit it.
"Yeah, I suppose," Holly's happy tone dipped a bit into the emotion she was feeling. She tried to hide it, but it slipped out involuntarily. "I'll just give Phasma and Feral their vials when I see them next." She stuffed her hands in her pockets and kept her eyes ahead, not looking around as she normally would have while walking to the courtyard.
Maybe. The word came to her from Falkor's mind. Shaking her head subconsciously, she stopped herself from hearing anything more. Aria would have been mad with just hearing the first word!
Tori looked up from where she was staring into space as Falkor and Holly entered the courtyard. Pheonix had been sleeping beside the vampire's foot until he heard them enter as well. Groggily, he sat stood up, stretched, and nodded to the two of them. "Beautiful day out, right, King Falkor? Mystic Skies? My, you two look cute together this morning," The fox chirped, wagging his tail in a friendly manner.
Tori rolled her eyes as Pheonix laughed at Holly's apparent embarassment thanks to his comment. "Kidding!" She heard her companion chime and the Mystic calmed down slightly. "Is there something you need?" The vampiress sighed, crossing her arms over her chest casually.
"Oh yes!" Holly fished in her pockets, pulling out two vials for them and holding them out. "Aria wanted me to pass them out for safety procautions," She smiled cheerfully.
She was wearing that stupid smile again. Tori didn't see the point in it. It looked like an act. "Stop pretending," She snapped, earning a confused look from Holly and Pheonix. She snatched the vials and walked out of the courtyard without another thought, Pheonix following after her cautiously.
"Here," Kenya mewed, walking up to Max. "Sorry. I was making sure that overgrown excuse for a cat wasn't still here," She narrowed her eyes and looked around, as if expecting Sabre to come from nowhere.

Falkor sat back and watched the scene unfold, allowing Pheonix's loud mouth and Tori's snappish attitude to bring life into it without his assistance. He had no need to be there anymore. Holly had done what needed to be done. The two had their vials, and she said she'd give Phasma and Feral their respective vials later. He could leave.
"Well, I've got paperwork to finish for a Notian immigrant," he said blandly. "Nice to be of your assistance, Holly."
Without another word, the King mindlessly exited the courtyard, his last thoughts trailing around the harsh interaction between Tori and Holly. The vampiress did not need to be so rude, nor did she have any right to jump to conclusions without hard evidence. Holly didn't seem the type to pretend to be happy, anyway, but then again, what did he know? They just barely knew each other. She might just be the type to hide her feelings with smiles and laughter.
And as Kenya somewhat expected Sabre to come out of nowhere, that she did. The monstrous cat turned the corner and came fang-to-face with the puny serval.
"Excuse for a cat, you dare say? Well, guess what?" She growled, baring the rest of her sharp teeth. She lowered her head to look directly into Kenya's eyes with her brilliant green gaze, resembling that of an Egyptian cat with the heavy black outlines. "I'm still here."
ooc edit: crap, sorry Sky. I thought it was my turn and I wasn't thinking when I posted it.

Max smiled as Kenya walked up and reached out, scratching the cat behind the ears. "There you are, I thought you were hunting or something. Don't worry about Sabre will you? I don't want you two fighting, I really don't want you getting hurt." She smiled at the cat and scratched under her chin.
Max nearly jumped through the ceiling of the castle with Sabre's appearance. She looked at the larger cat and sighed, not even bothering to stand up. "Sabre, can you please leave us alone, I really don't want any trouble today." The kalahati turned towards the two cats quizzically, glancing between the two cats every few seconds.
"Why are you two such big enemies anyway? Shouldn't cats both have hate towards other things instead of each other?"

"Thanks again," Holly breathed, watching as he left the courtyard. He had just called her Holly, and she was happy about that, but she just got the feeling that he found this little trip boring. Well, sure, it was boring, but not everything in a job could be as glamorous as being a ruler. It didn't matter how boring it was, just so long as she could help people in the process.
A sense of disappointment and jealousy suddenly ripped through her as she saw him turn the corner and finally leave, making her shake her head and sit down on one of the benches in the courtyard. What am I doing? It's not like I'm one of those girls I see with him sometimes. We're just... People living in the same castle...
"And here we are back to Holly," Renji chimed gleefully, followed by Sakura, Nova, and Dire. "You look blue, Hols. Something keeping you down?"
"Oh, no. Just... Uhm... Thinking," She forced another smile, hoping no one would see through her mask.
"Let's call it a territorial situation," Kenya answered Max, not really meaning it when she said it. She really did not know why they didn't like each other, she just did not enjoy the prescence of the large saber cat. She was intimidating enough as it was with her height, but why did she need the enormous fangs too!
"Yeah, I do dare say, Sabre," She hissed, smirking. "I dare say whatever I want to say."

Dire looked at Holly. He really, really looked at her, her every movement and facial expressions as well as what was in her eyes. The guard dog wasn't any sort of doctor of psychology or anything, but he could just tell that something didn't seem right. Of course, had Renji not said anything, he perhaps wouldn't have looked for this signs in the first place.
"Thinking about what?" he inquired, his tone just a note off from normal.
Nova simply looked at Holly, sitting down when the gang had ceased movement. She sat regally by Sakura's side, holding her head high with elegant pride, or something like that.
Sabre growled. She didn't hesitate to build up energy within her muscles and spring, throwing herself at Kenya without holding back. Her heavy paws had unsheathed, widely spread claws, and there was mania in her eyes.

Max sighed as Kenya spoke, why did she have to aggregate the larger cat? It just didn't make any sense to her, it never had. "Can you please stop Kenya, you are going to make her angry with you..." Max's instincts told her what was coming, she also knew that there was no way that either her, Kenya, nor Sabre could get through this without getting hurt one way or another. The kalahati leaped forward and pushed Kenya out of the way.
She spun quickly to see where Sabre was and cried out in surprise when she saw the saber toothed cat was nearly at her. She started to move back as quickly as she could knowing it was too late to get out of the way of the large cat. She would have changed into a falcon if she had enough time to get out of the way, but if she turned into one she would certainly be dead. She closed her eyes, dreading the moment of impact.
I just hope this doesn't hurt too much. Where are you when I need you Holly?

Holly stared at Dire, catching the slightly off tone in his voice that she wouldn't normally find there. She was still smiling easily, still wearing the mask of someone she was not at the moment. The smile, however, was not reaching her eyes in the way she wanted it to and that left it open to suggest that she was lying when she said, "Just thinking about how to make up to Falkor about running into him. And how to thank him for helping me."
"Aww," Renji sat next to Holly, leaning against her shoulder in a playful manner. "Wittle Holly's got a wittle crush on King Falkor," He held out the 'or' in Falkor to give his statement a bit more of a childish ring to it.
Holly rolled her eyes, cheeks becoming red with embarrassment, and shoved Renji off the bench. "Shut up, I do not!" She protested.
It was a good thing for Max that Dia was around when she was. And, for the fact that Dia was in character, she was going to help someone that needed it. Making it just in time, the olisthir grabbed the back of Max's shirt and jumped out of the way before the Kalahati could get hurt. She didn't bother with Kenya because she was already out of the way.
Dia was already in disguise, seeming to be just a stranger in the castle, someone new, but also slightly familiar. She stood at the height of 5'9", which was just a little taller than she had been. Blonde hair cascaded down to her mid-thighs, the ends dyed black, and she now sported a pair of sparkling, ocean blue eyes. However, it was noticeable that her left eye was a bit darker than the right one. Her body was very shapely, curves evident at the hips and chest.
She dropped Max rather abruptly, crossing her arms as soon as she did. "I'm looking for King Falkor," She spoke hesitantly, watching Sabre closely, but still with enough determination to show that she was serious and wanted to be heard. "I just came from Notia, but it wasn't working for me there, so I came here. Just wondering what I'd need to do to become a citizen."
"That would be Sabre's department," Kenya grumbled, not exactly thrilled that their little brawl had been interrupted. What was Max so worried about?

Dire looked at Holly with a smile in his eyes, clearly amused with Renji's childish mockery. He didn't, of course, believe anyone could romantically love the sexually-adept and affectionately-inept olisthir, as he had far too many problems for any one woman to deal with, or so the wolf thought. Perhaps, though, Holly was different. She always had been, right from the very beginning, and Dire was well-aware of that. Perhaps Holly could really make something more of his usually unfeeling, seemingly crestfallen, and sometimes ill-tempered king.
Sabre reacted quickly. She contorted her body in such a way that the momentum would spring her in the direction Max's savior in shining armor had brought the impecunious, needy, so-called arena combatant. She snarled wildly when she made it to the ground, catching herself ungracefully so she wouldn't fall and make a fool of herself.
"What makes you think I'll even consider telling you when you've just stolen my lunch and dinner away from me?" she roared, head low, fangs bared, shoulders tense, neck bristling, and tail lashing. "That could be considered a crime in this castle, punishable by thirty long years in prison, if King Falkor sees it appropriate! Never steal from a king's cat, you hear me? Never!"
