Ashfall is a small town just south of Scarchain. When the closest volcano erupts, the town is just out of reach from the magma and immense amounts of ash that rain from the sky; however, a small snow of the black flakes does manage to reach the town, granting it its name: Ashfall. This town is a common meeting place among assassins as well as thieves.

Scarchain is a huge arc of a volcanic chain. It curves slightly from the northernmost coast of Pertinax very near Oriens down to the midwestern coastline. The volcanoes of this chain erupt at random, destroying the lands around them. Scarchain provides a nice, secure barrier that protects Pertinax from the Vesperian Badlands and Oriens.
