phasmatis 25, 1595 , early morning notia castle, auster plains, resmir
This was not supposed to happen to him. He was supposed to be respected, that's all he really asked for. A companion should at least know when to listen and just do what they were told. But Yoko was different. Yoko didn't like listening and, more than anything, she didn't like giving back stuff. Especially when it didn't belong to her in the first place. Sometimes Logan thought he was merely babysitting her.
Logan wasn't the one to storm about in an angry fashion, but the fact that he was annoyed was clear. "Yoko! Get back here and give me the key!" He yelled, knowing that she was right around the corner. Rounding it, he crossed his arms over his chest in a motion that screamed 'you better listen to me'.
Yoko was staring at a key --the key Logan wanted--, admiring the way it shined. It was a small and intricate, jewels embedded into it. She whipped her head towards Logan when he came and stuck his tongue out at him. "Make me!" Without hesitation, she placed it in her mouth, smiling mischievously.
"Oh, classy, Yoko. You do realize that soon you will be turning back into a scythe, correct? And we can then both kiss that key goodbye," Logan explained in his slow, calm voice, decreasing its speed even more just so Yoko would understand.
"Nu-uh!" Yoko protested, the key pressed to side of her mouth so she could talk. "Anything I want can come with me unless they need to breathe. That's why I have clothes when I turn into a human."
"Thank the gods for that," The olisthir sighed. "Now give me back the key."
"Um..." Yoko contemplated, seeming to be deep in thought. After a moment, she smiled and shook her head, "Nope!" With that, Yoko spun and ran off at a speed comparable to a gazelle.

Rin stepped out of one of the side halls and heard Logan yelling. The young mystic barely suppressed a giggle as she walked over to the count and smiled up at him. "Having trouble with Yoko stealing things again?" She looked at Yoko take off in surprise and then sighed, knowing she could easily transform into a cheetah or something and catch her, and that Logan could do the same.
"She sure can run can't she. I wonder if saying you were engaged to someone would bring her back....." Before Logan could stop her, the olisthir cupped her hands over her mouth and yelled, "Yoko, guess what!?! Logan is engaged to the prettiest girl in the castle!"
She smiled, hoping that this would draw the small companion towards the two out of anger, and hopefully that anger would cause her to yell and eventually drop the key. If not then they were both going have to calm the girl down enough so that she wouldn't kill them. "Sorry for this Count Logan, best way I had to get her back over here."

Yoko stopped in her tracks, almost falling forward from her her quick momentum. She was already traveling down a seperate hall, out of sight, but she could clearly hear Rin. The scythe pulled the key out of her mouth and glared at it as it rested in the palm of her hand. Logan? Engaged to the prettiest girl in the castle? She ground her teeth together, spinning around and stomping back to Rin and Logan. She didn't believe it.
"Prettiest girl, huh?" She sneered as she stormed down the hall. "That's funny because he didn't propose to me. Unless you were planning to?" She crossed her tiny arms over her chest.
Oh gosh, Logan thought, realizing that her tone was suspicious and non-believing. He sent a quick glance at Rin before Yoko could get close enough to notice. The look said 'just play along'. "Umm... No, Yoko. I do not plan on asking you, because I've already asked a very beautiful lady," He wrapped his arm around Rin's waist. When Yoko narrowed her eyes, he knew that she still wasn't convinced. Sighing internally, he smiled wider and kissed Rin on the forehead.
Yoko took her eyes off Logan and instead turned to Rin, seeing what he reaction to the situation would be. She wouldn't believe them. Not yet at least.

Follow you're lead? It was my plan, shouldn't you--- Oh?! Rin's projected thoughts to Logan were cut off by the sudden hug around her waist. She blushed faintly and smiled a little. Did he actually think she was the prettiest girl in the castle? She knew she wasn't, there had to be a prettier girl out there than her.
She barely kept herself from giggling as he kissed her forehead. She blushed a little more at this and stood on her toes and kissed him gently on the cheek. This was too weird to her, she liked him but still, she hadn't expected to be in his arms until his little scythe grew up a bit more. "Yes, he did ask me," she looked over at Yoko and smiled, "and I said yes."
I just hope I don't faint....

"Logan Anthony Cordell. I... I hate you!!" Yoko screamed, the wind seeming to shift around them in a twister-ish fashion. The scythe girl threw the key back at Logan's face and she turned back to the direction she had originally been travelling in. How dare he do something like that without consulting her! And how dare he kiss his stupid little girlfriend in front of her! However, in midstride, she turned back into her scythe form, clanking to the floor.
"There we go," Logan nodded and released Rin to retrieve the scythe that was Yoko. On his way back to Rin, he picked up his key and smiled at the Mystic.
"That was some good acting, Mystic Rin. Thank you for helping me out and sorry about Yoko. You know how she is," He twirled his weapon expertly around his fingers. "And don't worry about the thing she just said. I'll tell her later that we're no engaged and it won't take her very long to just be herself again and forget that it ever happened."

Rin giggled a little as Yoko changed back into her scythe form. Something about the girl being stuck with a scythe form just made her laugh, mainly because she almost never saw anything like it. She was still new to the world of weapon companions, it was interesting. A scythe that changed into a human looking girl that couldn't stay in the form permanently was kinda ironic to her. Especially when that girl was one like Yoko.
"Well, my mom had wanted me to preform in plays when I was little, I think being a mystic is better though. I get to see exciting things like this." She paused for a moment, contemplating what to say next. She really didn't like being called "Mystic Rin," it was too formal in her opinion. "And you don't have to call me Mystic Rin when it's just the two of us. We are friends so you can just call me Rin when there is no one else around, right?"
Please say alright, please say alright, please say alright....

"Well, I believe you could have been good at whatever job you chose, but I believe Notia is grateful that you are their Mystic," Logan's voice was calm, serene, and slow like it normally was. His voice wasn't exactly monotone, but it seemed to keep an even tone that only changed when he was truly angry. Even when he had been yelling at Yoko earlier, it kept the same tone. It told a person what they could expect from Logan: laid back, though hard working all the same.
A small smile pulled at the edge of his lips. He chuckled nervously and scratched the back of his head. "I suppose I was being a bit too formal, huh? I apologize for that." He ruffled Rin's hair in the same way he would ruffle Yoko's hair when she was actually acting decent.
"Rin it is. And you may address me as just Logan. Unless we are at a formal sort of event," Logan replied, stuffing his hands back in his pockets. The scythe that was originally in his hand rested against the near wall.

Rin smiled and giggled a little as he said that Notia was glad to have her as it's mystic. She was still surprised that, even though she was so young for a mystic, that she had become mystic of Notia. She didn't know how they were lucky, there were better mystics out there like Aria but maybe this was a hint? It couldn't be could it?
She looked up at Logan and smiled when he ruffled her hair. It was like they had known each other forever, and he often did this to Yoko whenever she actually was being nice. "No need to apologize, it's not like we have talked about this before." She nodded and stepped back and touched Yoko's scythe form. "It's interesting that you have a companion like this, I'm still not used to it. I almost want to just play around with her and learn more about her." Rin ran her hand down the side of the scythe, wanting to know more about this curious companion.

"Get your filthy hand off me, Mystic! The only one allowed to touch me in scythe form is Logan!!" Yoko's voice came from the scythe resting against the wall, sharp and annoyed. "And, guess what 'countess'. I can hear everything you're saying! Your plan was ridiculous!!" With every sentence, her voice rose until she was practically screaming. The scythe started shaking violently, Yoko trying to change back into human form. However, she couldn't because that time was limited.
Logan scratched the back of his head, then took a step forward and retrieved the scythe. "It could be a wise idea not to do that," He smiled slightly, absentmindedly swinging the scythe around his fingers.
"Wise would be an understatement," Yoko's voice had dropped considerably, comfortable when Rin had stopped putting her grubby hands on her. Ick. Foolish Mystic didn't know anything.

"My hands are filthy now are they? You wont be saying that if I ever have to heal Logan." Rin giggled and turned to Logan, smiling. "And the plan worked didn't it? You got your key back, so obviously the plan wasn't ridiculous." She spun lightly and smiled at the scythe. She knew Yoko wouldn't hurt her. Rin knew how to fight and Yoko knew it. If she didn't then she would know soon.
Rin smiled at Logan and laughed. "I know it would be wise not to aggravate her, it's just so much fun to. Live life on the edge and you will have fun. Trust me, that's what I've always done!" She smiled and turned to head down the corridor. "Now if you need me I'll be in my room sorting herbs."

"You think you know everything, don't you? Well, get this. Logan doesn't need you or your stupid healing powers-- OW!" Yoko's temper tantrum was broken off by Logan casually smacking the weapon against the stone wall. It kept her quiet for a couple seconds. The scythe shook violently again in silent rage as she tried to shift back into her human form. It still wasn't working and with each second Rin continued talking, the more Yoko was getting annoyed.
Living on the edge? Pfft. She wouldn't know living on the edge if it bit her in the butt. Foolish Mystic probably keeps herself holed up in this castle, Yoko thought sarcastically to herself. The companion could sense Logan's emotions and she could tell that he was completely unfazed by Rin's flirting. It didn't do her any favors. It just made her look stupid.
"Like aggravating me, huh?" Suddenly Yoko was back in human form, a devious smirk taking the place of what once was a scowl. "My, you're a very rude and uncaring Mystic, aren't you?" Swift as a hare, she was already dancing down the hall, the bow from Rin's hair in her hand. She shook her hand, the bells tingling. "I like this. Mind if I keep this, rude Mystic?" She hissed. She spun and began running at top speed, knowing Rin was slightly fast, but no match for her.
Logan looked after Yoko, quite frankly speechless. He glanced between Rin with an apologetic expression and where Yoko had been with a frown.

The day had been relatively boring so far for Vyse. Sitting casually in a window seat, he held a large text of poetry at eye level of which he was reading somewhat mindlessly. It wasn't until he leisurely turned the page and gazed at the title of the next poem did he perk up slightly, his gaze intensifying.
"Love's Serenity...this was her favorite..." he muttered absent minded, slowly getting up and walking down the hallway. Thomas, his ginger feline, groaned and got up from the window seat to follow at his heels. He didn't dare interrupt Vyse's chain of thought as he intently read the lines of verse.
CRASH.
Vyse's body was slammed to the ground by an unknown force, causing him to land on his back and the heavy poetry book to land on his face.
"...owww..." Slowly moving the book off his face, Vyse sat up, rubbing the back of his head. "Can't you watch where you're going!?! And what kind of a person runs at top speed indoors?" Seeing that a young girl was sprawled on top of him, the olisthir racked his memory as to who she could be. Not remembering any particular young girls to be living in the castle, he suddenly remembered Logan's peculiar weapon.
"Hey, you're Logan's scythe, aren't you?"

As soon as she realized that Yoko had taken her favorite bell, one given to her a long time ago by her mother she took off after Yoko. She needed it back, it was the last link that she had to her mother. "Yoko! You have no idea how important that is to me, now give it back before I turn you into a heap of-"
She slid to a stop, barely keeping from crashing into the two on the ground. She spotted the ribbon in Yoko's hand and reached down, taking it rather forcefully from the scythe. She quickly and expertly put it back in her hair while talking, "If you ever take this again I'll..." She bent over and looked at the boy that Yoko had ran into. It couldn't be, could it? Vyse had disappeared off the radar a few years ago, she hadn't seen him since.
"V-vyse? Is that really you?"

Yoko groaned, rolling off the lumpy surface that was Vyse and onto the floor. She held her head in her hands, watching the stones on the ceiling swirl in her vision. Her eyes rolled at Vyse's comments and she graciously snapped back at him, "Why don't you watch where you're going? What kind of a person reads a book while walking down a hall?!" Something was tugged from her fingers as Rin took the bell back from her.
Just great.
Yoko hopped up, brushing off her dress and flicking a glare to the Mystic. She loathed that girl. She was nothing than a slightly knowledgable Olisthir who followed after Logan like a little puppy. Loki and Aria were far more impressive than Rin Contillo in her opinion.
"Yeah, I am," She replied to Vyse right before shifting back into scythe form without meaning to.

Vyse simply rolled his eyes after hearing Yoko's comeback, for he didn't feel like arguing his point. After she clanked to the ground as a scythe, he dejected a "HA!"
He stood up to address Rin, and suddenly felt bad doing so, for he towered over her about a foot. She already looked like she had seen a ghost, he didn't need to further intimidate her.
"Well, yeah... why wouldn't it be?" he asked the mystic. There was a rumor that Vyse was dead for a few months after the incident, but that was simply because he was hidden away in therapy for his insanity. How could she think I've been dead for two whole years now? Vyse assumed it was because he spend many of his days sleeping, due to the missions he carried out through the night. But still... shouldn't she have seen or at least heard of me?
