Description:
Derik is an interesting looking fellow in the land of miscreants and assassins. He stands out about as well as his half-sister, Holly, does in the castle of Acerbus Umbra. For an angel, though, he fits the bill perfectly with the blonde hair and light ice, blue eyes. However, he ruined his perfect blonde hair by dying it a reddish-orange color so he wouldn't be recognized as a member of the Skies family.

He stand at an above average height of 6'5", making him rather intimidating to most people. He's not overly skinny, but he's not overly muscular either. He has small, but defined muscles and a subtle six pack. His arms and legs are rather long, but not too long in the sense to make him look gangling. His skin is fair and flawless.

Description:
The first thing to know about Derik is that he is cocky and he's not afraid to deny it. People have called him a "smart ass" and a "crafty son of a bitch" and he likes to be known as that. He doesn't exactly like confrontation, so he's learned to become an escape artist when he's in a bad situation. He tends to be overconfident when it comes to practically... everything, especially when he sets his mind to it.

With his overconfidence comes arrogance and annoyance to those around. He has been known to go out of his way just to annoy certain people and keep them wondering about him. He talks about himself a lot, but not in an obsessive way, more of a way to build up his ego and pride. He tries to make sure he stays in a person's mind for as long as possible, to make them grind their teeth in anger.

Derik is different from the other Skies kids. They grew up as family while he grew up as a loner. Even Krista enjoys the company of her family, although her intentions aren't as pure and kind as Holly and Aaryn. Derik doesn't consider his family family; he calls them strangers that share his blood. He has only met his siblings a couple times and he has deemed the only one he likes is Holly, though he isn't sure why.
