acresso 17th, 1573, dawn grand chapel of the hexadus, hexa district, celestial city
"Congratulations, Mrs. Hawking. She's a beautiful baby girl, and she takes after your husband."
Elizabeth Hawking accepted her new child in her arms as one of the healers of the chapel stood back. The emotion in her eyes was invisible; it only took five simple words to transform her joy at a new child into seething anger: "she takes after your husband."
The demon faked a smile as the looked into the brilliant blue eyes of her fourth child, second daughter. She already had white-blonde hair that began to grow. The newborn had been wailing until she found comfort in the superficially warm embrace of her sinful mother. She stopped bawling, looked at Elizabeth with the eyes of an angel, and laughed. A baby's laugh, a sound sweet enough to turn even the cruelest of hearts warm, yet it had no effect on Elizabeth. No.
"She's beautiful, darling," Darius Hawking said fondly as he gazed into his daughter's blue eyes. The other three Hawking children – Julian, Elijah, and Alessia – were also at the chapel, crowding around the bed to see their new sibling.
Julian expressed curious indifference. While he didn't care either way about the outcome of his mother's new child, he couldn't help but investigate her existence in this world.
Elijah, on the other hand, had the face of a true big brother. His smile was as big and bright as his eyes. A new sister! Perhaps she wouldn't be as snobby as Alessia was turning out to be.
In fact, Alessia snobbishness had been with her essentially since the day of her birth. She crossed her arms and pouted at the new Hawking child. Even at four years old, she did not want to have to share Mother's attention with another girl.
"What shall we call her?" Darius asked, ceasing to break his gaze at his lovely new angel.
