I'm making this thread to put my thoughts and ideas on paper so to speak. They consist of plot ideas, future character ideas, and more.
Weapon set idea for Jack of Blades.
Out of all the characters I've made, Jack of Blades would have to be my favorite due to the impact he had on me as a villain ever since I first encountered him in Fable and I've done my best to play him as I saw him; a sadistic villain with his only goal being to empower himself. But of all the things I've done with him I have yet to give him anything special or unique so in the past few weeks, I've thought of a set of daggers for him, Lingering Rust and Abrupt Decay. These two daggers are both Sword Breakers meaning they are designed to break swords using the teeth forged into the spine of the blade.
The picture provided is a basic example of how one would look but these two would be more curved and crueler looking, something you would see Jack wielding.
Let us get into the details, shall we? We'll start with Lingering Rust, at first sight, it seems like a rusted and blood-stained blade making it duller than what it would normally be but it still retains its' strength due to it being a magic weapon. What truly makes it unique is its ability to rust any metal it comes into contact with, the lower quality the metal the faster it rusts with other magical weapons being immune to its ability while non-magical items enhanced by magic spells rust as if they were of one quality step higher.
Abrupt Decay has a more Bowie knife design to it and seems to be well taken care of, but where Lingering Rust's power is for breaking through an enemies defense Abrupt Decay's power if for the flesh. Any wound inflicted by this dagger begins to decay the flesh around it, the deeper the cut the faster the decay but recovery magic or cauterization quickly nullifies the effects.
(Funny... I spelled cauterization right the first time..)
Now to the big brainchild of mine, the plot idea. Roxi already knows of this idea but never got back to me on it but I would like to share it here for everyone to see it.. hopefully.
Note: Due to finding out about the secession of Verfall this year I have made changes to this idea which actually add to a timeline for the plot.
On the eve of the final battle of the Verfall Secession an event happened, no one knows who or what caused it, some say a cult others say the gods but one thing they agree on is that it changed everything. This event put everyone in all the kingdoms in a deep slumber and the cruel effects of time turned a blind eye to them but not to the rest of the world. Time passed, towns fell into ruins as nature reclaimed what was once hers, the seasons came and went until finally 100 years passed and the slumber ended. At first, the war resumed as if nothing had happened but then the soldiers noticed something; their leaders were missing. The kings and queens, counts and countesses, the mystics and well-known figures of their age have disappeared without a trace leaving a power vacuum that would have long-lasting effects, but that wasn't the only thing missing, the gods stopped communing with their worshippers. Time continued its march forward bringing with it changes that no one could have predicted, a new faction rose in the church blaming the followers of the Selfish for the Great Slumber and called for an inquisition and began to gather power, the noble vampire houses once kept in line by the Nightingale family began to fight for the throne and force non-vampires into feudal servitude as both servants and cattle but one house seems to be gaining more strength than the others, Asteria was the only kingdom to remain somewhat normal due to plans to be executed in case of emergencies but pressure from the Inquisition is beginning to force the ruling council to side with the church, and Hegatzi has remained silent, no one has gone in and returned.
50 years pass and the Inquisition has gained full control of the church and began to move into Asteria to finish off the last members of the Old Guard who had taken up residence in Denarius Temple with the last of their followers and supporters. In Verfall only two noble houses remained the house of Baron Vladimir Crimsonfang who sought to wipe the Nightingale name from history and House Bloodwind who had control of Castle Umbra and was firm supporters of the Nightingale lineage.
Alas, it is almost 3 am for me as I type this line so I must now call it a night but there is still more to add and I will continue to add to this as long as the ideas keep flowing. I wish all of you a good night and will see you all again hopefully.
