Phasmatis 16, 1593, midmorning market district , celestial city, resmir
"Cethin! Let go of my arm!" Emzara protested, digging her heels into the cobblestone ground as if that was help. If anything, it made things worse. Her bare feet scraped against the stone and left a trail of light red. "Cethin, my feet are bleeding! Stop!" More silence followed her commands and statement as Cethin seemed to expertly manuever his way through dark alleys. He was tangible for the time being, able to keep a strong grip on the lesser demon's arm.
"Can you atleast tell me why we're in the Celestial City?" She asked quietly, stopping her struggling as she stumbled along after him. "Or tell me why I couldn't bring Camarin?" She glanced down at Tran, Cethin's soul stealing companion, and gave him a questioning look as well.
After a few more minutes of nothing, Emzara was starting to think that Cethin wasn't going to talk to her at all. However, he finally stopped infront of a shop with black curtains blocking the view inside. "Well, I just thought that you could use some time out of that stuffy house. I know how much you just love being around people. But, I forgot that I needed to pick up something here really quick, so we'll be in and out. Hopefully. I like gambling and so does one of the shop keepers."
Without hesitation, he pulled her inside with him. The inside smelled havily of smoke and was dimly lit with small candles. Emzara instantly found herself not liking the place at all and as soon as she still wanted Cethin's hand to be around her wrist, he disappeared, literally leaving her in the dark. He only left her with "welcome to the black market".
Very quietly, she started to walk around, not sure where she was going. She ran into a couple people who did not look friendly, so she kept her mouth shut and backed away as swift as possible.

Akio silently walked through the stalls, his usual boots treading softly on the stone floor of the building. He didn't really remember why he was here, probably just walking through the city and exploring it. He had found himself in this place, the black market. He had never been here before and was fascinated by the diversity of the items and people here. There were slave traders here, though he didn't really believe in slaves. This was a place that even if he was told to get rid of, he wouldn't just because he found the place so interesting.
That's when he spotted the young girl who looked a little lost. He noticed her back away from a few people, seeming scared and lost and decided to help her. He approached her from behind and smiled. He placed his hand on her shoulder gently and spoke, his voice filled with it's usual kindness. "Why is a girl like you here? Want me to guide you out of here? You seem a little..... uncomfortable. I'm Akio by the way."

"I swear I didn't mean to!" Emzara screamed before she could hear Akio's questions. She knelt down quickly and placed her arms over her head protectively. After her little scare, though, she realized that the person wasn't going to hurt and that he had asked her a few questions. Very cautiously, she stood up and turned around to look at the stranger. She tried to act like she hadn't screamed a second ago.
"My, uh, cousin dragged me here. He said that I needed to get out of the house and then he.... ditched me here," Emzara frowned and looked around. She still didn't see Cethin around and she couldn't even see where she entered anymore.
"I don't mean to bother you at all. It's okay if you don't want to take me on a tour. Please don't go out of your way just to make me comfortable..." The lesser demon stared at the ground, her dark purple eyes swirling with apology. She really did not want to be a burden to anyone. Especially someone as nice as Akio. "I'm Emzara."

Akio smiled at her, even though he nearly jumped through the roof when the girl screamed. He didn't understand why she was so so jumpy from someone just touching her to offer her help. Maybe she wasn't used to being touched at all. That's when he noticed the blood on the floor leading right to the girls feet.
"Lets get you outside so I can take a look at your feet. I may not be a healer but I've had my fair share of bloodied and blistered feet." Akio held out his hand to her, hoping she would take it so that he could take her outside. He knew how to treat feet like her's, and if she didn't take his hand he would probably pick her up and carry her outside. A nice girl like her should not be in such a bad place as this.

She had completely forgotten about her heels of her feet being torn up and bloody. In fact, with the scare she had being left alone, she had completely forgotten about the pain it was causing her to walk around. However, she wasn't going to let Akio go out of his way just to help her. She had put up with much worse before and a little pain in her feet wasn't anything compared to it.
"It's not so bad. I just... scuffled my feet on some rocks or something," Emzara lied, not wanting to say that she actually tried to stop herself from being dragged and ended up making her feet bleed. How embarrassing would that be? She should have remembered that she wasn't wearing shoes that day. Maybe he won't realize that...
A very puzzled expression took hold of her features as Akio held out his hand. She tilted her head, confused as what she was supposed to do with it. "What do you want me to do witht that?" She asked hesitantly as she pointed to his hand in a gesture.

What did she mean that what to do with it. Did she really not know enough to actually. Akio was now as confused as he had ever been before. She didn't know what a simple offer of the hand meant? She was the first girl he had met that hadn't blushed or giggled if he offered them his hand. He sighed slightly and lowered his hand.
"You don't get out much do you....And I'm not offering to take a look at your feet, I'm saying I want to take a look at your feet. You shouldn't be on them any more in that condition, they could become infected." He quickly stepped behind her and smiled, "Please don't struggle any, I'm just trying to help you. If I did anything bad to a girl my sister would kill me."
Akio placed one arm under her thighs and picked her up slowly, hefting her somewhat easily. She was surprisingly light making it easy to carry her. He smiled and headed towards the door he came through, which was thankfully to a back alley. He set her down on the ground and smiled at her a little.
"That wasn't too bad was it?"

"I would rather not get out mu -- hey!!" Emzara was cut off as Akio picked her up. She should have been worried about stealing his soul with as much contact as they had right at the moment, but the only thing she was thinking about was why the heck he was holding her. The lesser demon's whole face turned a shade of pink in embarrassment as Akio calmly carried her out of the black market.
It didn't exactly matter about her soul, though. Cethin had given her a soul before they came so she wouldn't have to worry. However, they both knew that too much contact could lead to soul stealing even if they were full of soul power. Emzara leaned away from Akio as best as she could without falling out of his arms.
"Why... Why would you do something like that? You barely even know me," She studdered, still fairly embarrassed with that. Her heart was still pounding a million miles a second.

Akio scratched his head in embarrassment. He really didn't know why he had done that, she just seemed to be in pain and also looked like she did not want to be there. What was he to say? That he didn't really know? His mind wondered to Amberly, and how she most likely would have done the same thing, even though Emzara was a young lady, and not a man like Amberly would have liked.
"I don't really know honestly. Maybe it runs in my blood seeing as my sister is training to become a mystic. But can I please look at your feet, I'm worried about how bad they may be. I really would not like to see that become infected, for it could lead to death with my luck lately." The vedial smiled uneasily at her and pulled out a bag of medical supplies he always carried with him.
He pulled out some bandages and a paste that Amberly had given him the last time they saw each other. She had said it prevent infection and that rarely was anyone allergic to the ingredients.

Emzara smiled distantly, sadly. Her deep purple eyes reflected the same emotion of longing as she absentmindedly spoke, "Mystic, huh? Must be fun training for stuff like that..." The lesser demon never had the liberty of being able to chose stuff like that. She would have loved to be a mystic or healer or something else. But she really didn't have a job other than delivering messages for some people. She didn't trust herself enough to actually do anything else.
She looked down at her feet, which were still bleeding, and frowned. She must have had to drag her heels into the ground pretty hard to get it that bad. Cautiously, she poked her right heel, then bit her lip. Damn, that hurt!
Though, as soon as she saw the paste and bandages, she recoiled slightly. "I hope that doesn't have chamomile in it..." She murmured.

Akio sighed and stifled his laughter before speaking, still laughing a little. "I'm not so sure she is having gun, Loki is working her to death. well, that was in her words at least." Akio's hand shot forward when she went to touch her foot. "No don't do...... that...."
Emzara had touched her foot, did she not know that touching such a raw surface would only bring a searing pain? He looked at her quizzically when she asked if there was any chamomile in it. "I don't think so, why?" He looked at the jar sceptically, trying to remember everything that Amberly had put into it.

"Interaction..." Emzara murmured quietly, nearly inaudible to even herself. Worked to death sounded better than her life of waiting in a house with no windows for the day she needed to go out and retrieve a soul. Living in that small house with only a doorway to the outside could make anyone think that anything outside of it was fun. Most people wouldn't think twice about never going back.
But Emzara could never be like most people, could she?
Soon enough, the lesser demon just checked out of the conversation, droning any sound that happened to occur around her. She didn't even hear Akio's question to her as an ominous wind picked up in the back alley, powerful enough to knock some one over if they were caught off guard. The ground, though it wasn't that noticeable started to shake just a bit.
It all happened in a flash. In the blink of an eye, Emzara pinned Akio to the ground, her eyes completely emotionless. Both of her hands were wrapped around his throat, tightening slowly. A smile that could be taken as insane crept across her face as she broke out in maniacal laughter.

Akio let out a cry of of surprise and winced she hovered over him momentarily. He didn't even notice her hands around his neck before it was too late. He started to gasp for breath and struggle as much as he could. with his remaining strength. He was at a disadvantage, she was stronger than him since he couldn't take in a full breath.
He heard the roar of a dragon as it impacted the ground in the alleyway, filling the entire entrance to it. Don't kill the girl Safaia... He just caught a glimpse of her bewildered look as she crept up on the girl, ready to grab her and pull her off of her lancer before he blacked out.
Safaia grabbed Emzara and threw her off of Akio. "Akio! Are you with us still?!?" she roared into his face, trying to wake him up with the shear volume of her voice. She completely ignored Emzara, not really caring about her because she could easily snap the small girl i half.

Emzara was thrown into a wall, her back smacking against it and then she fell forward. For the slightest moment, she blacked out from hitting the back of her head on the wall. However, she resurfaced from the darkness quickly, her vision fuzzy and swirling with black dots, but she was awake. 'Akio. Are you with us still?!' The words came to her, echoing several times in her head.
"What happened to Akio...?" She muttered quietly, eyes widening when she saw him on the gound. "What--"
"My, my, my, you are a troublesome girl, aren't you, Emzara? Those silly little thoughts finally coming to haunt you," A cold voice flowed into the alley. The voice was hollow, seeming to be coming from every direction. Cethin was calmly walking up to the group of three, his smirk mirroring his voice. While he was addressing his cousin, his eyes were on Akio, his smirk falling into an unamused frown.
He shifted into an untangible form so Akio's dragon wouldn't be able to harm him unless using magic. Strolling over to Akio, he knelt down and frowned even more. "And you think you can help, you tiny souled weakling?" A thought suddenly came to him, his smirk coming back. "I'm pretty low. Maybe I should take your soul..."
"Cethin, no!" Emzara yelled, struggling to stand up. "You can't steal his soul!"
A staccato 'hah' escaped the ghosts lips. "You?" He stifled a laugh, "You are commanding me?" Suddenly tangible, he was infront of Emzara, dagger at her throat. The smirk held firm on his face, "I don't believe you have the authority to do so. What is he to you anyway, Em? He's just another soul to steal." He tilted her chin up, forcing her to look him in the eyes and his voice dropped, "As a soul stealer, you do realize that you'll never find anyone that will willingly stay with you, right? Those thoughts should be cast out immediatly for they are impossible."
Emzara was quiet for a long moment before she looked at the ground and nodded slowly,"Yes sir..."

Emzara's release of Akio's throat brought in a rush of air into his lungs. He pretended to still be down when Cethin arrived, telling Safaia not to panic through their special connection. Soul stealer? I could have sworn that those were only myth, legends. The vedial sat up slowly, taking in deep breaths and then easily leaped to his feet. He unclipped the sheath to his sword from his belt and leaned on it casually.
He winced when he saw the stranger that Emzara had called Cethin press the dagger up to her neck. "I think that's enough of that Cethin. Leave the girl alone, you may be a soul stealer and she may be too but that does not mean that I have to stand by and watch this. And also, I'm willing to stay with her because, if the myths and legends about your kind are right, there is a way to make her not a soul stealer any longer." Akio shifted his weight and motioned for Safaia to move back a bit just in case Cethin decided he should try to get at the young Vedial.
"Small souled you say? what does it matter that someone has a small should or a big soul, it's all the same when it comes down to each individual person?"

Cethin didn't move for a minute, holding out silence as long as he desired to. There was an apathetic look that passed through his eyes, however Akio was unable to see it because he was still turned away from the boy and his dragon. A chuckled escaped his lips a moment later, a smile that Emzara knew very well spread across his face. "I believe you are quite mistaken on a majority of your statements," Cethin replied, turning his glowing gaze on the vedial. His eye flashed white for a moment before he continued, "Akio Suzuya, correct?"
"Cethin, please stop. I promise I'll leave with you right now," Emzara pleaded, rushing forward and grabbing his arm like a little kid.
Cethin didn't hesitate to rip his arm out of her grasp then slap her. As the lesser demon recoiled, he crossed his arms over his chest casually, "No, no. Obviously, this boy wants to get involved with soul stealers, Em. He's quiet confused on some details that are quite important to our legend."
The ghost walked up to the vedial. With each step, he seemed to be taking a step up an invisible stair case until he was atleast two feet above Akio. However, he was still infront of the vedial, just looking down at him and out of reach. "There may very well be a way to give a soul stealer a change of future, but I don't believe you know what lies beyond the change. Giving a soul stealer their true soul may very well be like transforming them completely. One truly does not know what their true personality is, not even them."
He crouched down, narrowing his eyes like a cat. "And as for the small soul comment, I couldn't expect a being such as yourself to understand it. The sizes of soul matter to us."
